Here it is: The giveaway that takes the cake. It does. In fact, I want to keep this giveaway for myself. Every single item. Yes, indeed. But I refuse to give in to such a selfish impulse. I do.
This is an amazing giveaway. It is. Totally. Completely. It includes:
Colette's gorgeous Crepe pattern. It's sweet. It's easy. It has that 1940s flair. And perhaps best of all, it's for beginners! Aren't you happy about that, fledglings? I am.
Next, Ann of Gorgeous Fabrics is generously supplying the fabric to make your Crepe frock. And it's not just any fabric. No. It isn't. It is luscious royal navy wool crepe. Think how wonderful it will feel.
And Sunni, the Cupcake Goddess herself, has made a cute pin cushion especially for our very lucky winner. It's the cherry size, yes, the one right on the tip top. It is so adorable.
But there's more. Really: Revlon Cherries in the Snow lipstick and nail polish. True vintage colors introduced in 1953. This color was a cult best seller in the 1950s, and it's just as glamorous today.
So. You are surely asking: How do I enter? How? Well. It's easier than baking a cake. And quicker. Just leave a comment. Amuse me. Tell me why you want to win. Tell me if you read the blog regularly. Let me know what you like best about Sewing Spaces. Do so by Tuesday, November 9 at 5 pm PDT. Then I'll use a random number generator to pick the winner. And someone will be getting a very fabulous package in the mail.
And a warm-and-toasty thank-you to Sarai of Colette patterns, Ann of Gorgeous Fabrics and Sunni of The Cupcake Goddess for making this terrific giveaway possible!

I have your blog on my gmail reader, so I don't miss it. The sewing spaces inspire me to do more with my own. I want to win this giveaway because I deserve it! Mwahaha

Wow, this must be the most amazing giveaway I've seen so far! I am a devoted follower of your blog and I love your series on sewing spaces - and I hate it at the same time because it makes me think of my teeny-tiny 1-room-apartment where my machines sit next to my coffee machine :)
Posted by: Sinje | November 04, 2010 at 02:29 AM
Knock my socks off with the giveaway! I don't deserve it, but I'd love to make that dress (and wear it). Gimme gimme gimme.
I think your writing style is unique in the blog world.

Why do I want that pattern?
- because off Gerties sewalong
- because it would be fun to get
something from the States
- because it would feel special to
wear that dress and always remember
where it came from
- those patterns are not available in DE

BEST GIVEAWAY EVER! I was already hoping to make this dress for Christmas and was so excited when Gertie announced it's her next sew-along project. And "Sewing Spaces"? Love it. Partly because I like to see other peoples' houses but mostly because I'm new to sewing and I like to steal good ideas from other people.

I do read your blog regularly - its on my google reader. Sewing spaces is great to see how people orgainze (and I'm thinking about getting a new dressform so I like to see all the different dressforms people have). And, I'd love to make a crepe in navy crepe.

This is a great giveaway! I'm a huge fan of the humor you use in your posts and Sewing Spaces series was fun because it's kind of like not-so-secretly peeping into the windows of tons of sewing rooms!

I am a loyal follower of your blog and I am impressed with your restraint not to just keep all these great prizes...Wow! I would think it was my birthday if I won! Crossing my fingers and toes...
Posted by: Mary | November 04, 2010 at 06:28 AM
Oh, ohh, ohhh!! Pick meeeee! All the prizes are fabulous--
OK, now that I've calmed down...Yes, I follow your blog regularly via Google Reader. It's charming, and I love Sewing Spaces! I always enjoy seeing where other people create and how they make the most of the space they have. How do you choose the sewing rooms you feature?

I'm here, I'm here, can't you hear me - send it to me. I've never won anything and having such great fabric, pattern, lovely handmade pin cushion, and makeup to top it off would be a dream prize.
What I liked best about the Sewing Spaces series - I was able to meet fabulous seamstress, creators, designers, some I hadn't met prior; was inspired to begin sewing clothing for myself again; learned more about fitting, fabulous tailoring techniques; became envious of some stashes. I'm now a subscriber to all in the series including your blog.
Thanks for the blog series and an opportunity to win such an incredible collection of prizes.

Oooooooh!!! Pick me! lol. I would love to win the giveaway because 1.) I've been eying that pattern since it came out. 2.) I need a navy dress in my wardrobe (I don't really have any... and it's an essential, imho). 3.) well, at the risk of sounding selfish, I like getting surprise mail. ;) hehe!
I have to say that I have really enjoyed reading all your sewing spaces interviews--I recently went back and read some of the older ones that I had missed! It's definitely inspired me both in regards to my own sewing space, as well as finding out a bit more about some of my favorite bloggers-sewists! Keep it up!C

I read your blog faithfully every day - especially since finding out that you live in Arizona - just like me!
I love seeing how everyone else has their sewing spaces set up!
I love that dress for the ease in sewing and how cute it is!

This is the COOLEST thing ever!
I love your blog and check it every day. I love your posts on vintage patterns, I have a ton that an older friend gave me. most of them are unused and it breaks my heart! but I need ideas to make them modern so I'll acutally wear them. My husband and I are relocating to England next month and I think this would be a great dress for job interviews with black pumps and a cardigan.
I read sewing spaces so that when we get our new house my poor unforinuate husband will know exactly how to decorate it for me. I like to show him other womens stashes and let him know how lucky he really is, as mostly I have my habit under control.
If you pick me I will send lovely pictures of myself wearing the Crepe Dress around London, mostly while fabric shopping. :)

I really, really, really want that pattern because I'm new to sewing and I would really like an opportunity to take part in the sewalong coming up with thisone.
So yes... want it bad...

I really, really want to win this giveaway! You see, I have these shoes...red patent slingbacks with a white band across the toe and a big navy button securing the band (Frando Sarto "Nail"). I love them dearly, but I don't have a navy dress to wear with them. This giveaway would be perfect!

I want to win because Gertie at Gertie's Blog for Better Sewing is having a sew a long on that pattern starting in December. If I won, I would pretty much be all set. What I love about Sewing Spaces is that seeing these lovely sewing rooms motivates me to clean mine up.
I accidentally left this comment on another post.

Honey, I'll tell you anything for this give away!! :-) What fantastic loot - and it's so beautifully put together. It's everything you need to be your own chic-lady, sewing inspiration.
How awesome that you timed this with Gertie's next sew along project. This is a totally wonderful opportunity.

Wow, what a fab giveaway. I love reading about and drooling over all thelovely sewing spaces of my favourite crafty bloggers. In some cases I havea definite case of sewing space envy. Mine is the table in my room, and boxes of my 'fabric stash' are secreted away in in several rooms around the house. I've picked up some great ideas on this blog. So thanks for sharing. :) I'dlove to get these goodies, especially the crepe dress pattern as I'm thinking of joining Gertie in her sewalong. I was too busy to take part in the Lady Grey sewalong. So fingers crossed.

I would love to win this giveaway. I'm just getting back into sewing clothes and am kicking around the idea of joining Gertie's next sew along. How perfect! I find inspiration through your blog and others. Can't wait to start the journey.

Greetings. I do follow your blog. I've been shamed, er, inspired by the beautiful sewing spaces you've featured. I can only dream of what mine would be like once it's totally organized. I think moving to another residence is the only way to achieve that, though. Perhaps you should feature a space that reflects absolute insanity. Here's a glimpse of my world. http://riange.blogspot.com/2008/03/bit-of-my-pattern-and-fabric-collection.html

I'd really like to win this 'cos I really need cheering up!!
It's been a grim week with DS3 rushed to hospital unconscious on Monday after a rugby incident. Thankfully he's OK and out of hospital now but a very scary time

Sorry - that could hardly be counted as amusing could it???

After years of sewing for my 2 teenage daughters, I have decided to begin sewing for myself! This pattern would be a GREAT start! AND navy would be a very forgiving color for me! I consider myself a bit more than a novice, but want to follow Gertie on the upcoming sew-a-long using this pattern! I love this website! The humor, the information - what more could anyone want? Thank you for keeping me entertained and educated!
